C. W. "Buck" Buchanan, 85, passed away August 15, 2010.
A native of Bakersville, NC, he was a son of the late Mary Estelle Byrd and James Arnold Buchanan. He lived in this area since 1964 and was the owner and operator of Buck's Tires in Maxeys for many years. He was a member and deacon of Macedonia Baptist Church and the F. & A. Masons, Howard Lodge #138 of Maxeys, GA.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frances V. Buchanan; three children, Warren Lee (Carol) Buchanan of Maxeys, Charles Jeffrey (Robbie) Buchanan of Jefferson, and Christie B. (Scott) Slay of Marietta; five grandchildren, Nicholas Lee Buchanan, Cate Savannah Buchanan, Edwin Vinson Buchanan, Mary Chanan Slay, Richard LeBeau Slay; brother, James Edward Buchanan of Sequin, TX.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
