Lexington, GA - Joel (Butch) Eason, 66, died September 24, 2010.
Born in Oxford, AL, he was the son of the late Joel Eason, Jr. and Eva Eason. He was a disabled veteran, having received the purple heart. He was a member of Amvets, American Legion and 40 & 8. He was a volunteer firefighter with Oglethorpe County and dedicated a great deal of time doing volunteer work.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Eason; children, Scott Basting, Suzi Basting and Julie Ball; grandchildren, Zach Maynard, Marissa Maynard, Jake Robertson and Jared Robertson and 2 great grandchildren.
As per Butch's wishes, he will be cremated and no services will be held.
Lord and Stephens, EAST is in charge of arrangements.
