Burney Wayne Self

Burney Wayne Self, 73, husband of the late Dorothy “Dot” Self, died on December 27, 2023. Born in Watkinsville, GA he was the son of the late Melvin McCoy Self and Ruby Nell Brown Self. Wayne worked for the University of Georgia as a farmer. He attended Ross Chapel Church and was an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors include his three children: Michelle Johnson, Patrick (Mary) Self and Jeffery Self; siblings: Danny Self, Roy Self and Deborah Tapp; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2PM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. Interment will follow at Ross Chapel Church Cemetery.
