Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Brian Lee Crouch passed away on April 29, 2023 at the age of 58 years after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.
Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 24 years, Lisa; son, Cole; sister, Connie (John) Buxton, brother Bruce (Patricia) Crouch, sister Claire (Stephen) Crouch; in-laws Bennie (Helga) Williams; bother in-law Joel Williams; nieces and nephews Charles Buxton, Justin Crouch, Leigh Ann Vaughn and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Muriel Crouch, and nephew Drew Crouch.
Brian was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 21,1965 and lived in Flippen, Georgia. He graduated high school from Woodward Academy and went on to attend the University of Georgia where he met his wife, Lisa. He worked at Dixie Painting of Athens where he was affectionately known as “Brain” by his co-workers. Brian was a resident of Winterville where he lived joyfully with his wife Lisa and son Cole for the past 25 years.
Brian enjoyed many interests and hobbies. He had a penchant for cooking, especially cajun dishes. He was the king of Shrimp and Grits and never served a plate without a garnish. Brian also relished saltwater fishing in St. Joseph Bay at Cape San Blas, Florida where he vacationed yearly with his family. He was always on the hunt for that prize redfish, speckled trout and pompano. Saturdays in the fall Brian could be found glued to the television cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs to score a pick 6. He was a “Damn Good Dawg”.
Of all his pastimes, one superseded them all. Gardening. It was his passion. His serenity. Brian was a Japanese maple collector and connoisseur. A true plant “nut”. He sought out the unusual, rare, and niche for his garden. Nothing was ordinary. Everything was phenomenal. His lush, beautiful plantings will be admired and enjoyed by his family and friends for years to come. Brian’s legacy will live forever. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2PM at Lord and Stephens East Chapel. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, EAST, Athens, GA is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
