Brenda P. Whitley

Brenda P. Whitley, 71, wife of 38 years to Jim Whitley, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Born in Athens, GA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert David Patton and Ruth Willoughby Patton and sister to the late Vickie Diane Patton and Tammy Patton Greer.  Brenda graduated from Oconee County High School in 1971, attended the University of Georgia and graduated from the LSU School of Banking. She retired after more than 20 years as the Assistant Vice President of Oconee State Bank and was a member of Briarwood Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to her husband Jim include three sons: Shawn Whitley, James (Jessica) Whitley and Chris Whitley and two grandchildren: Britten Grace Whitley and James Bronson Whitley, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11AM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5PM until 7PM at Lord and Stephens West on Friday, April 26, 2024.
