Brenda King Isaac, 81, of Athens, GA passed away on December 29th, 2022. Her close family members were by her side. Brenda was born to Lloyd and Bertha King of Central, SC in 1941. She attended DW Daniel High school and graduated in 1959. She earned a BS degree in Biology in 1963 from Clemson University. She was one of the first women to be a part of a graduating class from Clemson University.
Brenda met the love of her life, Robert A. Isaac of Georgetown, SC in 1964 after graduating from college. They were married in 1966 after 2 years of courtship. Both were talented dancers and loved dancing to shag music. From their first date till the end, they were shagging. Brenda and Robert moved to Georgia where she began her career as a schoolteacher in Atlanta. She was passionate about teaching and devoted to her students, and they loved her. Brenda and Robert moved to Athens in 1968. They had two children: Aglisha Isaac and Heather Isaac. She also had a grandson whom she adored, Geoffery Isaac. She was a devoted mother and wife. Brenda put her teaching career on hold for many years to devote herself to her family. She dedicated her spare time to multiple charities including the Cancer Society Auxiliary, YWCO, Nearly New Shop, and The Garden Club. She was a Georgia Bulldog football fan and loved attending the Georgia games. She also attended First Presbyterian Church for many years. She retired from her teaching in 2006.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Bertha King, and her brother-in-law, Bobby Busha. She is survived by her husband, Robert Isaac of Athens, GA, her daughter’s Aglisha Isaac of Los Angeles, CA and Heather Isaac of Atlanta, GA, her grandson Geoffery Isaac of Fort Lauderdale, FL, her sister Carolyn Busha and brother Anthony King of Clemson, stepson Bobby Isaac Jr of Jacksonville, Fl, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family request in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.//act.alz.org) or the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers, Georgia Chapter – Goizueta ADRC @ Emory University (https://alzheimers.emory.edu) in her honor.
