Watkinsville - Brenda Gaye Hopkins, 58, wife of Ricky Hopkins, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at her residence.
Born in Athens, she was the daughter of Robert Langston and Betty Looney Coile, of Cave Spring. She had worked for six years as the Director of Children's Friends until her health wouldn't allow her to continue.
Survivors in addition her to husband and parents include children, Rusty (Marisa) Estes, of Bogart, and Ashley Hopkins, of Watkinsville; brother, Robert Coile, Jr., of LaGrange; sister, Beverly Benefield, of Centre, Ala.; and one grandson: Anderson William Estes.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Lord & Stephens West Chapel, with Rev. Ben Glossen and Rev. Dan Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to CURE Childhood Cancer, 1117 Perimeter Center West, Ste. N-402, Atlanta, GA 30338.
