Athens - Bonnie Chandler, 92, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Heritage Healthcare of Athens.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 1PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Jeff Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late Henry Columbus and Leila Crawford Hill Brown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Buren Pruitt, second husband, Julius Chandler and son Harvey Gene Pruitt. She was a member of Johnson Drive Baptist Church and retired from Thomas Textile as a seamstress.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law: Barbara and Robert Gearhart of Athens, daughter in law: Peggy Pruitt of Athens; sister: Mary Etta Bryan of Butler; five grandsons: Keith Mauldin, Kenneth and Anne Mauldin, Craig and Brenda Pruitt, Corey and Susan Pruitt and Jeff and Kathy Gearhart, nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 16, 2009 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Johnson Drive Baptist Church or the American Alzheimer's Association.
