Athens - Rev. Bobby Brooks, 66, died May 11, 2006.
A native of Oglethorpe County, GA, he was a son of the late Fred D. and Lillie Bradley Brooks. He was a pastor for ten years and founder of Church of the Way, Monroe, GA. Rev. Brooks was a devout Christian, devoted husband and father.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 4:00 PM at Oconee Chapel with Rev. Waymon Carter officiating. Interment will be in Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Thornton Brooks; daughter, Fran Brooks of Oconee County; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Sandy Brooks of High Shoals; brother and sister-in-law, Dempsey and Sarah Brooks of Titusville, FL; grandchildren, Cheyenne Brooks, Lane Brooks, Jared Brooks, Brandon Sonko and Kaleb Dickens.
Pallbearers will be Chris Jarrard, Pat Holl, Neal Lowe, Scott Cole, Darryl Brooks, and Keith Barnett.
Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors, Inc., is in charge of arrangements. .
