Dover, Delaware - Billy J. Wheeler of Dover died Wednesday October 5, 2005 in his home. He was 62.
Mr. Wheeler was born February 16, 1943 in Jackson County, Georgia to the late Joe Webb Wheeler and Sarah Allene Hill Wheeler.
He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He was in the aircraft maintenance department at Summit Aviation. Mr. Wheeler enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife of 41 years Patricia A. Cash Wheeler of Dover; his daughter, Jennifer Renee Truitt and her husband Kevin of Camden, DE; one brother, Allen Wheeler and his wife Kim of Carnesville, GA; three sisters, Betty Cooper and her husband Reece of Bishop, GA, Brenda Walraven and her husband Kevin of Bishop, GA and Barbara Dickson and her husband Eddy of Conyers, GA and one grandchild, Hayden Truitt of Camden, DE and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 7 PM Thursday October 6, 2005 at Torbett Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE. Friends may call one hour prior. Viewing will be held from 1-2 PM Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Ray's United Methodist Church, Bishop, GA. Service will be at 2 PM at church. Interment at church cemetery immediately following.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Ray's United Methodist Church Cemetery Building Fund, 1521 Rays Church Road, Bishop, GA 30621.
Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
