Born in Denver, CO, he was the son of David William Stern and Mary Carol Stern. He worked as the Service Manager for Polaris of Athens. Billy was the Senior Patrol Leader for Boy Scout Troup #2 of Athens.
Survivors include his parents, sisters; Carrie Lynn Stern of Lexington, Andrea Stern of Westminster, CO, maternal grandparents, Chet and Ann Malanoski of Athens, paternal grandparents, William and Beatrice Stern of Gasport, NY and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service was held Tuesday evening, January 17, 2006 at 7PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. George Richard Hoard officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Boy Scouts Troup #2.
Memorials may be made to Boy Scouts of America, c/o Northeast Georgia Council Troup #2, P.O. Box 399, Jefferson, GA 30549.
