Billy Gene Foust Sr., 87, of Anderson, died August 7, 2015.
Born in Greensboro, NC to John and Laura McGee Foust, Bill served in the U.S Navy and was a WWII veteran. He worked 38 years at Pine Lake Golf Course as golf pro/ manager. Bill was known throughout SC as an excellent golf instructor and accomplished player, holding course records in SC, GA, and NC. It's been said that Bill was "one of the best players to ever lace up a pair of golf shoes from Anderson and the surrounding area."
Bill was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was active with the Anderson Meals on Wheels and long time supporter of IPTAY.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred Sharp Foust, and a son, Demi Lane Foust.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Elaine Weeks, Michael Lindy "Butch" Foust and wife Susan, Billy Gene "Chip" Foust and wife Jerrie, and Laura Michelle Foust; sister, Margaret Moreland; and grandchildren, Taylor, Devon, Mary Lincoln, Virginia, and Emily Foust, Lindy and Laura Foust, D.J. and Gunner Foust, and Wells Sharp Foust.
A memorial services will be take place Wednesday, August 19 at 4:00p.m. at Pine Lake Golf Course. Visitation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lane Creek Junior Golf Foundation, 1201 Club Drive, Bishop, Ga. 30621.
