Billups "Jerome" Malcolm, 75, of Athens left his earthly shell and is now beholding his Savior face to face, as of Tuesday, May 6 with his wife, Patricia at his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents Billups P. and Annie Mae Malcolm. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia, and daughters Sharon Lynn Patrick (Jeffery) and Hope Malcolm, grandchildren, Scott, Lindsey, Joseph and Nash Patrick, brother Boyd Malcolm, brothers-in law Doug Martin (Becky) and Johnny Martin (Marsha) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who all loved him dearly.
Jerome had several jobs during his adult life including the U.S. Air Force, the Athens Fire Department, the Athens Daily News and finally 38 years with Southeastern Testing Lab in Bishop.
Most of all, Jerome loved the Lord with his whole being and the way in which he lived his faith affected every area of his life whether it was actual church work such as teaching Sunday School or singing in the choir, or playing golf, playing his trumpet or guitar, working out at the gym, or fishing at the lake. He was a member of Central Baptist Church for over 60 years and his influence in others' lives can be felt around the world.
