William "Bill" L. Brandenburg, Jr., 86, passed away October 28, 2009.
A native and longtime resident of Clarke County, he was a son of the late Bertha Lillian Ohlkers and William L. Brandenburg, Sr., and the widower of Eunice Mills Brandenburg. Mr. Brandenburg was a veteran of the United States Navy with service during World War II. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Athens and proudly served as one of Judge Lawton Stephens first bailiffs.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 2, 2009 at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Athens with Dr. W. Glenn Doak officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include three sisters, Margaret York of Pensacola, FL, Carolyn Reynolds and Dot Handley, both of Athens; a number of nieces and nephews; precious canine, Priscilla.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
