Athens - Filemon William Burton Bobon, 47, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Dumaguete City, Philippines, he was the son of the late Dr. Benigno L. Bobon and Patricia Burton Bobon. He was a 1981 graduate of Cedar Shoals High School where he played football.
Survivors include his siblings, Rosemarie Bobon (Glynn) Banks of Conyers, Dr. Benigno B. (Marguerite) Bobon of Swanee, and Catherine J. Bobon of Athens; and nephews and nieces, Brian Banks, Nicole Bobon, Benjamin Bobon, and Andrew Bobon.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Lord & Stephens East Chapel. Burial will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or the Athens Kidney Center, 1440 North Chase Street, Athens, GA 30606.
Lord & Stephens, East, is in charge of arrangements.
