Beverly Jean Duppstadt Kormanik passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the age of 83.
She was born in Windber, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Dayton Elwood Duppstadt and Gladys Mae Legg Duppstadt. After earning her BSRN from the University of Pittsburg School of Nursing, she worked in both public health and hospital settings, finally retiring from Athens Regional Hospital. Beverly was an avid reader, an enthusiastic seamstress and quilter, and soft touch for any dog or cat that crossed her path.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Dayton Kormanik, and one grandson, Daniel Miles Kormanik. Survivors include her beloved husband of 58 years, Dr. Paul Peter Kormanik; daughter Taryn Leigh Kormanik; son Christopher Riordan Kormanik (Mary); brother Robert Dayton Duppstadt (Beverly); grandson Jason Miles; great grandson Nathan Miles, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her honorary grandchildren Konrad Bowlus-Jasinski And Zosia Bowlus-Jasinski, who brought her much joy in her later years.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Lord and Stephens East, with Dr. Edward R. Bolen officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service, with a private burial following.
