Beulah McClain Smith

Beulah McClain Smith, 97, wife of the late George William Smith, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013. A native of Wilkes County, she was the daughter of the late Miles Russell and Emma Mercer McClain. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son, George Miles Smith, four brothers and seven sisters. She retired from Blue Bell Textiles and was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church. Survivors include her children: Joyce Stevens, Anita (Charles P. ) Harris, Ken Smith; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11AM at Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Johnston officiating. Pallbearers will be Shayne Harris, Stevie Harris, Bill Stevens, Keyleum Smith, Dusty Smith and Josh Seip. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Lord & Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
