Comer, GA - Beulah Benton Hammond, 94, died February 23, 2009.
A lifelong resident of Comer, GA she was a daughter of the late Earle and Alice Nona Benton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hammond, Daughter, Sandra Alice Hardeman, sister, Kathleen Pulliam and brother, James B. "Buck" Benton.
Mrs. Hammond owned and operated Comer Variety Store and was a longtime active member of Comer Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Comer Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Interment will be in Comer Cemetery.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Erwin (Sue) Hardeman of Comer; granddaughters, Terri H. (Howell) Seagraves of Ila and Paula H. (Curtis) Drake of Comer; great grandchildren, Alicia Seagraves, Mallory Seagraves, Blaine Seagraves and Autumn Drake; loving friend and caregiver, Mrs. Ida Campbell.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Legg, Jerry Hammond, Johnny White, Dennis Daniel, Darrell Daniel, and David Daniel.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Eliza Graham Sunday School Class.
The family may be reached at the residence of Erwin Hardeman and will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Comer Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 208, Comer, GA 30629.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
