Betty Jean Smith

Hull - Betty Jean (Williams) Smith, 75, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2011. Betty was the daughter of the late Roy and Helen Williams and sister of the late Benny Williams. She was a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church and retired from Rich's after 25 years. Those left remembering her with great love are her devoted husband of 55 years, Horace Smith; her children Tammy (Brian) Smith of Jacksonville, FL and Mark Smith of Chesapeake, VA; her grandchildren David Smith of Jacksonville, FL and Ian, Sarah and Carter Smith of Chesapeake, VA; and many other friends and family. The family especially wishes to acknowledge the love and care shown by Birdie Nix over the last few years and the kindness and care given by the 4th floor nurses at Athens Regional Medical Center this past week.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 2 PM at Moon's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Dial officiating. Burial will follow at Moon's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
