Betty Helen Savage

Betty Helen Savage, age 96, of Arnoldsville, GA, passed away on March 13, 2025. She was born in Watkinsville, GA, on April 21, 1928, to Lewis Savage and Molly Landrum Savage. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband J.T. Savage, her son Donnie, and her brother, Robert.

She is survived by her children: Marie (Joseph) Kettle, Kenneth (Nancy) Savage, Mike Savage, Johnny (Lynn) Savage, and Wayne (Loria) Savage. Betty also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and her sister Jean Lowe-Moncus. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who will cherish her memory.

Betty spent several years working at Alps Road Elementary School in the cafeteria, where she touched the lives of countless children. She later worked as an embroiderer at Thomas Textile, known for her attention to detail. Betty had a great love for flowers and plants, but what truly made her home special was the constant presence of a fresh batch of homemade biscuits on the table, always welcoming anyone who entered her door.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens East, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Betty will be laid to rest at Athens Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be her beloved grandsons, Brian Savage, Dustin Savage, Christopher Savage, Jerry Brown, Josh Strickland, and great grandson Owen Savage.
