Betty Jean Rice, 74, died August 31, 2010.
A native of Athens, GA, she was a daughter of the late Neal and Lucile Mullins Burger. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of this area.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 3, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Survivors include her five children, Mell (Kathy) Michael of Crawford, Cindy Michael Brown of Cumming, GA, Randy (Carla) Michael of Arnoldsville, Richard Rice of Union Point and Marc (Rene) Rice of Winterville; brother, Frank (Katie) Burger of Athens; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
