Betty Kathryn "Kathy" Phillips

June 28, 1946 — November 30, 2013

Kathy Phillips, 67, loving wife and mother, entered her Heavenly home November 30, 2013.
Born June 28, 1946 in Athens, GA to Denver and Winnie Mae (Christian) Campbell, she was a homemaker and minister's wife. During her teen years, she sang on a radio ministry with her family, and was active in the Bluestone Baptist Church of Danielsville, Ga. As a senior of Madison County High, she received a Bible from the Sarepta Ministerial Association in recognition of her outstanding Christian testimony. She graduated from Bible College with a Bachelor of Theology degree majoring in Child Evangelism. She was a Christian School Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Author and Librarian. Kathy served with her husband in the mission field for over twenty years through Gateway Ministries West. Speaking to ladies' groups was one of her favorite activities. Preceding her in death were her parents, three grandbabies and two nieces, Erin & Heather Fitzpatrick.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Dr. T. Wayne Phillips; four children, Amanda Perez (spouse-Jose), Nate Phillips (spouse-Paige), Jon Phillips and Heidi Adams (spouse-David); siblings, Rabun Campbell, Brenda Fitzpatrick, Judy James and Tim Campbell; twelve grandchildren, Jessica, Mike, Sam, Josh, Ben, Katie Jane, Chris, Lane, Kensey, Meaghan, Gracy and Madison.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 2:00pm at Hull Baptist Church with Revs. Randy Crowe and Tim Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Colbert Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
