Athens - Betty Barry May, 79, of Athens, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005.
She was the wife of the late E. Burt May of Athens and the daughter of the late George L. and Lucille F. Barry of Childress, Texas. Mrs. May was a charter member and past President of Athens Regional Hospital Auxiliary and a Deaconess and charter member of Friendship Christian Church.
Survivors include: sister Billie B. Leverett of Pampa, TX; brother George C. ìJackî Barry and wife Kay, of Columbus, TX; daughter Sandra M. Compton and husband Darrell, of Marietta; sons E. Burton May Jr. and wife Ayla, of Grayson and Jeffrey R. May and wife Sharon, of Guatemala; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Friendship Christian Church, 285 Tallassee Road, Athens, GA, 30606 on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Maryís Hospice or a charity of choice.
