Betty Kirk Marbut

Betty Kirk Marbut, 67, died November 3, 2014.
A native of Athens, GA, she was a daughter of the late Harry Lamar and Ruth Mohla Kirk and daughter-in-law of the late Howell D. and Ola Glyn Bishop Marbut. She was also preceded in death by her sons, James David Marbut, Jr. and Daniel Kirk Marbut. Mrs. Marbut was a graduate of the University of Georgia and retired after thirty-two years from the Oconee County School System. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Athens for many years and most recently a member of Bogart Christian Church.
Memorial services will be Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST with Rev. Allen Rogers and Mr. Ed Saye officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, James David "Jimmy" Marbut; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Iva Kirk (Rusty) Hoyle of Athens and Harriette Kirk (Robin) Bohannon of Augusta; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard (Sara) Marbut and Bill (the late Carolyn and current Kathy) Marbut; four grandchildren, Evan James Marbut, Virginia "Ginny" Marbut, Allie Grace Marbut and Daniel Grant Marbut; a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bogart Christian Church.
