Betty Lou Bishop Joyce

Betty Lou Bishop Joyce, 88, died November 12, 2024.

Born in Willisburg, Kentucky Feb 5, 1936, Mrs. Joyce was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Bishop. She lived in Kentucky and Illinois as a child, and graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in early childhood education. Later she completed a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Georgia. She enjoyed traveling, painting, square dancing, playing bridge, and creating unique jewelry. She was also a volunteer with Oconee County Meals-On-Wheels program.

Mrs. Joyce is survived by her husband of 69 years, Thomas S. Joyce, of the home, her children Lisa Hollingsworth-Segedy of Pittsburgh, PA, Janice Joyce Robinson of Temple, GA, Timothy S. Joyce of Winterville, GA. She is also survived by grandchildren Rob Hollingsworth of North Carolina (Nichole), Lindsay Hollingsworth of Colorado, Rachel Robinson of Georgia, and Olivia Joyce of Maine.

The Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

The family requests memorial donations to be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation.
