Betty Wheless Furcron

Betty Jean Furcron, 86, wife of the late Marion Hubert Furcron, died Sunday, September 15, 2019. Born in Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Hyartt Wheless, Sr. and Lula Catherine Thomas Wheless and sister to the late Louise Nation and Jr. Wheless.  Mrs. Furcron was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.  Betty was most known in Oglethorpe County as a substitute teacher in the Oglethorpe County Schools and working at Sandy Cross Grocery for 30 years. Survivors include her son: Marion Furcron; siblings: Evelyn Carsile of Athens, Willie Lee Nation of Devils Pond, Thomas Wheless of Sandy Cross, Kay Smith of Union Point and Ray Wheless of Lexington; two grandchildren: Sam Furcron and Ginny Furcron and her fur babies, Ginger Baby and Precious.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 11AM at Sandy Cross Baptist Church with Rev.
