Betty "Boots" Bates, 78, died December 18, 2014.
A native of Oglethorpe County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy Weaver Green and was the widow of Cecil Bates. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Weaver; son, Randy "Pete" Bates; and three sisters, Patricia Tate, Jean Ginn and Jeanette Patman.
Graveside services were held Friday, December 19, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Colliers Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Johnson; son, Ricky Rogers; stepson, Donald Bates; two brothers, Felton Green and Jimmy Green, both of Colbert; grandchildren, Sueann Blaoch, Jan Puckett, Jessica Teague, Jason Johnson, Levi Bates, Steven Bates and Kimberly Rogers, Jennifer Wynn and Carol Gabriel; great grandchildren, Skylar Johnson, Kaitlyn Turner, Taylor Teague, Jasmine Grizzell, Jenna Grizzell, Brianna Puckett, Alison Puckett, Rylee Wynn, Austin Wynn, Leslie Gabriel and Chloe Anglin; two nephews, Todd Green and Mark Green.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, was in charge of arrangements.
