Colbert - Betty Jo Bales, 70, wife of Jonas Bales, died Monday, February 26, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born in Walhalla, SC, she was the daughter of the late Hasting and Mamie Tucker Keenan. She was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her brother Heyward Keenan.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 1PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. George Owensby officiating.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Ricky (Kathy) Cantrell of Athens, Cynthia Arnold of Hull, Keenan Bales of Colbert, Holly (Aimee) Bales of Carlton, Sunshine (Geovanni) Munoz of Athens, Krystal Bales of Colbert; brothers: Charles Keenan of Nicholson, Bruce Keenan of Toccoa; sisters: Louise Vanderburg of Ila, Velvie Helton of Athens, Brenda ( special brother in law, Bob) Daugherty of Athens, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Lord & Stephens, EAST is in charge of arrangements.
