Bettie J Paul

Bettie J. Harris Paul, wife of the late Joel Harris Paul, passed away on February 29, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hyter H. Harris and Lillian Mays Harris, and her sister, Shirley Harris Williams.

Bettie was born in Raleigh, NC, and spent her formative years in Richmond, VA. When her father transferred to Marietta, GA, she began her education at the University of Georgia where she earned a Specialist degree in Reading and Education. She taught for many years in the Oglethorpe County and Hall County School systems and retired from Lanier Tech in Oakwood, GA.

Bettie was an avid War Between the States buff who amassed a large collection of books on the subject.  She also had a deep love and affection for animals and had numerous beloved pets throughout the years.

Graveside service will be on Sunday, March 3, 2024 4:00 PM at Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Derek Paul officiating.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Caroline Paul Howard (Scott), and grandson Alexander Paul Connor.
