Betsy Paradise Prince, 85, of Maxeys, entered into our Heavenly Father’s arms, Saturday, March 28, 2020, in the comfort of her home, after a lengthy illness.
She was born October 17, 1934, in Wilkes County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late DeWitt T. and Bessie F. Paradise.
Betsy was very active in Antioch Baptist Church, as long as her health permitted. She graduated from North Georgia College with a BS Degree in Biology, in 1955 and also earned a Master’s Degree in Education. She began teaching at the Oglethorpe County Elementary School, in 1972. She was a devoted teacher to the children of Oglethorpe County for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucinda Paradise Spivey, Mary Paradise Rogers, and Carolyn Paradise Jackson. She is survived by her children: Robbie P. Buchanan (Jeff), DeWitt A. Prince (Elaine), Rebecca P. Brooks (Thomas), and Amy Medina (Antonio), nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Monday, March 30, 2020 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3235 Thomson Highway, Lincolnton, GA. Rev. Brett Mask, of Salem Baptist Church, will be officiating.
The family has asked that memorials in memory of Ms. Prince be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
