Athens - Betsy Newsome Mize, 60, died Friday, March 6, 2009.
Born in Fulton County, she was the daughter of Jack Newsome of Athens and the late Mary Asbury Moore Newsome. She has made her home in Athens since 1964 and was a homemaker.
Memorial services will be Monday, March 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Rev. Royce McNeal officiating.
Survivors in addition to her father include her husband, Stanley Mize; children, Drew Mize and Ambrey Mize, both of Athens; sister, Julie Newsome Williams of Social Circle; and mother-in-law, Hilda Mize of Bowman.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Northeast Georgia Food Bank.
