Danielsville - Bessie Ruth Dixon Simmons, 79, of Danielsville, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Simmons was a native of Elbert County, but had lived most of her life in Danielsville. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She loved Bluegrass Music. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Wiley Simmons; parents, John Henry and Drucie Dixon; sisters, L.E. Coile, Jeanette Coile, Geneva Martin and Virginia Dixon.
Survivors include her children, Paul Simmons and wife, Jean, Patricia Ann Burdette and husband, Morris, and Donald Simmons and wife, Marsha; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe T., John W., Glen, D.C. Frank, Junior, Gene, and Wilbur Dixon; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 11:00am, Saturday, June 2, 2007 , from the chapel of Lord and Stephens Madison Chapel with Reverend Donald Phillips officiating. Interment was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
