Bertie Mae Dalton

December 9, 1928 — July 7, 2016

Bertie Mae Dalton, 87, wife of the late Robert L. "Bob" Dalton, died Thursday, July 7, 2016. A native of Knotts Island, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wesley Capps and Doris Carroll Capps. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Lee Dalton and brother, Kenneth Ray Capps. Mrs. Dalton was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for the Faith and Joyful Faith Sunday School Classes. She also worked as a financial sectary for 25 years for Prince Avenue and served as Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the CEO-GM for Prince Avenue's radio station, WMSL. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Patsy D. and Jimmy Bledsoe of Covington, GA, and Sandy D. Cox of Marietta; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike Frazier) Cox, Kelsey (Kasey) Tuupo, and Brandon (Luisa Kormann) Bledsoe; sister: Virginia (Gene) Wren and son in law Logan Cox. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Revs. Bill Ricketts and Doug Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 prior to the service.
