Bernice Lou Lord, 91, died April 6, 2014.
A native and lifelong resident of Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Lawton Thomas and Pearl Wall Lord. She was preceded in death by her sister, Vivian Marshall and brothers, Bob Lord and Bill Lord. She was a member of Bogart Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She worked with several government agencies and retired from the Athens office of Social Security.
Survivors include a brother, Henry C. (Rebecca) Lord of Monroe; nieces, Mary Margaret Crosby, Robin Ayers, Jane Townsend; nephews, Howard Marshall, Jr., Scott Lord, Tom Lord, Wayne Lord, and Tim Marshall.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
