Bennett Paul Williams

Bennett Paul Williams passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his partner and parents, Monday, Jan. 22, at the age of 50. He is survived by his partner, Monica Majewski, parents, Ouida and Kenneth Williams, sister, Keating (David) McCarthy, nephew, Kylar McCarthy, and many dear friends.
Ben, a native of Athens and class of 1986 Clarke Central High School graduate, was born in Johnson City, Tenn. on Jan. 10, 1968. He lived in Boston, Ma., where he was a founding partner of Cyco Scenic, a theater and event design and production company that he operated for over 15 years. Prior to moving to Boston, Ben worked as the assistant technical director of the Gainesville Theater Alliance, in Gainesville, Ga. Toward the end of his battle with cancer, he returned to Athens to be close to his family.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 780 Timothy Rd., Athens, Ga., 30606, on Saturday, Feb. 3, 1 p.m.
