Winterville - Benjamin Franklin Busbin, age 81, of Winterville, died October 29, 2010. A native of Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late James and Lois Busbin. He worked as a supervisor for Classic City Beverage, and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Busbin is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah M. Busbin, and a grandson, Tyler Nelms, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Busbin of Winterville; son, George Busbin of Winterville; daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Tyler Nelms, Sr. of Lexington; granddaughter, Rebekah Nelms of Lexington; sisters, Betty Milligan of Athens and Hazel Martin of Danielsville; and brother, Fred Busbin of Fort Myers, Fla. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Oconee Hills Cemetery, with Rev. Bill Hayes officiating. Lord & Stephens Funeral EAST has charge of arrangements.
