Ben Lord

Roger Benton “Ben” Lord Jr. passed away peacefully at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center at the age of 66 years, June 2, 2022. Ben was born in Athens, Georgia on April 24, 1956. He was the son of Dorothy McCannon Lord of Athens and was preceded in death by his father, Roger Benton Lord Sr., and brother Darrell Keith Lord. Grandparents, Linton Odell Lord and Zeebell Benton Lord, Sydney Marrow McCannon and Ethel Huff McCannon, Aunt Zelma Ruth Lord, and Aunt Janice McCannon Norris. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sons Garrett Benton Lord, and Zachary Austin Fulp. His wife Jan Kesler Lord, step families Justin and Layne Davidson, and daughter Kesler. Scottie and Lauren Thompson, sons Jude and Asher. He is also survived by many cousins he loved and enjoyed. Ben started his own company, Mobile Marketing Inc. in 2004, and continued to work until his death.

Services are to be held Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home East Side. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 P.M. with the main service starting at 3:00 P.M. Burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Athens Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
