Watkinsville - Beatrice C. Edwards, 85, wife of the late Thomas Edwards, died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Athens Heritage Nursing Home.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Pet and Annie Myrt Adams Crawford. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny and Vernon Crawford.
She was a member of Watkinsville Memorial Baptist Church. She had worked at Watkinsville First Baptist Church Preschool Nursery Department for 12 years and loved children, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Charles William Norton of Athens, Harry Norton of Seneca, S.C., Linda Hardigree of Athens, Jimmy Edwards of Watkinsville; sister Lucille Brunett of Beaumont, Texas; brother Bobby Crawford of Nicholson; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 11AM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with Revs. Jimmy Edwards, Darryl Gilmer and Ken Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Family Cemetery, Watkinsville, Ga. Pallbearers will be Hoyt Mauldin, Chris Norton, Brad Young, Kalip Young, Richard Cronic, and Eddie Hardigree. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
