Barry Lamar Savage

October 24, 1957 — June 2, 2017

Barry Lamar Savage, 59, passed from this world in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 3, 2017, and joined the love of his life, Tina Williams Savage, who preceded him in death in January 2016.
Born in Athens on October 24th, 1957, he was the son of the late Tallie Lamar Savage and Betty Sue Osborne Savage. Barry was a 1975 graduate of Oconee County High School and retired from DairyPak after many years of dedicated service. Barry lived a simple life, where his love of music, fishing, and UGA football were 2nd only to his love for his family and his friends. He enjoyed spending time at Tybee Island, fishing trips to North Carolina, and hours of playing guitar and singing.
Barry is survived by his children - Heather Rose Spawn and her husband Matthew, of Virginia, Tallie Savage Reagin and her husband Chris, of Oconee County, and Jake Lamar Savage of Oconee County, and his siblings - Jimmy Carroll of Athens, Pamela Savage Veale of Oconee County and Tracy Carroll of Oconee County. Barry was also the proud grandfather of Tansey Claire Spawn, Maverick Robert Spawn and Charles Emory Reagin.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home West. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM in the Lord and Stephens West Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, Barry's family asks that his friends make a donation to the charity of their choice in his name.
