Barry Hammond Hicks Jr

Barry Hammond Hicks, Jr., 44, died Monday, April 23, 2012.

Born in Athens, he was the son of Barry Hammond Hicks, Sr. and Gloria Fay Hicks of Watkinsville and the late Mary Frances Sheridan Hicks. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Grady and Era Hicks, Rev. Samuel Hurst and Cara Sheridan. Barry retired from Pike Electric, was a member of New Life Apostolic Church and was a coach for the Starz Fast Pitch Soft Ball 10U teams in Oconee County.

Survivors include his wife Jamie Brown Hicks, children: Brooke Hicks and Madison Hicks all of Bishop; brothers: Rodney and Nicole Hicks of Watkinsville, Brantley Hicks of Watkinsville; sisters: Starla and Rev. Jimmy Kyle of Sugar Hill, Amber Hicks of Buford; maternal grandmother: Georgia Hurst and several uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 2PM at New Life Apostolic Church with Rev. Tim Hammond officiating. Burial will follow at Whitehall Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Wolford, Allan Wolford, Jaimie Parker, Andrew Parker, Logan Hicks, Taylor Hicks, Joseph Hicks and Chad Gibson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Life Apostolic Church.

Lord & Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
