Barbara Moore (Moore) Patton

Barbara Jean Moore Patton, age 88, passed away peacefully at Gentiva Hospice at Athens Regional Medical Center on March 29, 2016.
Born on March 29, 1928 in Gary, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Jack Oscar Moore and Edna Hack Moore. "Baboo" as she was affectionately known, was a homemaker and graduated from Maxeys High School in 1945. She was married to the late John Robert Patton Sr. with whom she had three children. "Baboo" never met a stranger, always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Jack, Leroy, Norman, Charles and Betty.
Survivors include three children: Johnny (Josie) Patton, Greg (Bonnie) Patton and Kim (Jerry) Jones; grandchildren: Teena Short, Tiffani Short and Wesley (Courtney) Patton; and great grandchildren: Eli Patton and Lucas Patton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the church.
