Barbara Ann Mansfield

Barbara Ann Mansfield, 96 of Athens, Georgia passed away March 19, 2023.  Barbara was born and grew up in Detroit Michigan with her mother, father and twin sister, Mary. Barbara graduated from Albion College with an Elementary Ed degree and then went on to graduate with her Masters in Arts Degree from Cranbrook. Barbara was an amazing artist, and spent most of her young adult life creating beautiful pottery.  She taught drawing and design at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  Following her retirement, she moved to Athens Georgia to be near her family.

Barbara is preceeded in death by her mother Phoebe, father David and husband James.  She is survived by her sister Mary, son Jon, daughter Carol (Vince), and three cherished grandchildren, Anna, Sydney and Mitchell. She has been laid to rest by her parents and husband in Michigan.

Barbara was an avid bridge player and enjoyed her many years of playing cards at Athens Community Council on Aging.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of her can be made to ACCA.
