Barbara "Bobbie" (Lanier) Dodd

Barbara Nelle “Bobbie” Dodd, 82, wife of 62 years to Doyle Dodd, died Sunday, July 18, 2021. Born in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Walter Clifford Lanier and Nelle Yearwood Lanier. She had worked as a dietician for the Oconee County High School and retired from Hart County Elementary School.  Bobbie enjoyed square dancing, camping, watching the Braves, cooking and most of all spending time with her husband, family and her fur baby Sadie.  She and her husband, Doyle, truly had a fairy tale love story that began their freshman year of high school.   Together they created a foundation of love that has been passed down to their children and grandchildren. Doyle would always say to Bobbie, “Look what we did Barb”. Together they are survived by three children; Pam Dodd (Jerry) Roberts of Chestnut Mountain, GA, Mandy Dodd (David) Phillips of Watkinsville, GA, Chris (Kristy) Dodd of Gray; seven grandchildren: Michael (Stacy) Roberts, Jeremy (Sandy) Roberts, Emily Roberts, Ryan (Lindsey) Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Breanna Ames and Brooks Dodd and six great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 2pm at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12PM until 2PM prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
