Aubrey Kenneth Ginn, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 after a courageous nine month battle with cancer. He was born August 31, 1936 to Willie Lester and Beulah Evans Ginn in Jackson County, Georgia.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Jean Strickland Ginn; son Brian Kenneth (Bojana) Ginn and grandson Vuk Kenneth Ginn of Decatur, GA; mother-in-law Mildred Strickland of Danielsville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Betty and Max Sartain of Danielsville; brother-in-law Bobby (Beth) Adams of Ila; sister-in-law Sue Ginn of Hull, and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Herman and Edwin Ginn and sisters Myrtle Ginn Adams and Maryelle Ginn Lineberry.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, Kenneth was a long time member of Union Baptist Church. Retired from both Chevron Oil and Wal-Mart, he enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his children and beloved grandson. A lifelong fan of Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, Kenneth shared both their sharecropper roots and US Army Service in Germany. He enjoyed sports and was a charter member of the Madison County Touchdown Club, remaining active in the club until his illness.
Pallbearers will be Jay Adams, Justin Miller, George Lineberry, Jr., Chris Lineberry, Greg Sartain, and Aaron Sartain.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lord & Stephens, Danielsville. Services will be held at Union Baptist Church, Highway 106, Friday, March 16, at 2:30 p.m. and will be conducted by Rev. W.D. Thomason and Rev. Billy Owensby. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Union Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
