Arthur J. Olson, 79, of Statham, GA passed away suddenly September 18, 2015.
Born in Chicago, IL and raised in Kansas City, MO, he was the son of the late Arthur J., Sr. and Myrtle Ringman Olson.
Mr. Olson was a graduate of Westminster College, Fulton, MO, where he attended on a golf scholarship and was a proud member of Phi Delta Theta. Art was a scratch golfer. He was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, both active and reserves, where he was as a paratrooper in Special Forces. Following his military service, he worked as a stockbroker until his death. Mr. Olson was a devout Lutheran and proud of his Swedish heritage.
Surviving him are his dearly loved family, including his wife of 37 years, Jeannine R. Olson; son, Robert A. Olson (Jennifer) of Billings, MO; stepchildren, Philip Zuspan (Sheryl) of Leawood, KS, Tracey Hagerty (Larry) of Chapin, SC and Larry Zuspan (Marla) of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Laura, Carolyn, Natalie, Sarah, Jennifer, Kameron, Easton and Hannah; and sister, Carmen Roeder (Clarence) of Leawood, KS; nieces and nephew Carla, Collette and Craig.
Art's infectious humor will be remembered by many and his bright light will always shine within us.
The family will receive friends at Village Hall at The Georgia Club, 1050 Chancellors Drive, Statham, Georgia, 30666, on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 4:00 until 5:00 PM with a reception to follow.
