Arnold Callaway, Jr. went to be with Our Lord on Friday, March 12, 2021.
He was born on September 13, 1947 to Arnold Callaway, Sr. and Evelyn Garner Callaway. He was a native of Arnoldsville, GA, where he lived all his life. He graduated from Oglethorpe County High School in 1965. On November 7, 1965, he went to work at Westinghouse/ABB. He was disabled in September 2003 with a back injury and retired in 2005 with 40 years of service.
In November 1972 he married the love of his life, Linda Whitlow. She was his best friend and partner, and they were always happy together.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and friends and spending time with family and friends, especially doing things with his wife and great-grandchildren. He loved the Lord and wanted his family and friends to meet him in heaven so we can all be together again.
Arnold is preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: Ruth Shiner, Louise Bray, Jessie Mae McCannon, Ruby Korman, and Shirley Smith.
He is survived by his wife Linda of 49 years; a son, Troy (Tina) of Arnoldsville; two grandchildren: Samantha Hueso of Arnoldsville and John Miller of Athens; two beautiful great-granddaughters Amberlyn Hueso and Abigail Gresham; a sister, Nell Ohler or Cumming; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 15, at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 before the service.
