Arneal Scott

Arneal Scott, 80, of Athens, GA passed away on April 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Scott Haeberer. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Melba Colleen Scott; son, Michael Arneal Scott (Beth); granddaughters, Jennifer and Michelle Scott; son-in-law Alfred Haeberer; and sisters Freda Brooks and Marlene Wilson. Arneal began his career at the Soil Conservation Service in August 1957 in Hereford TX. He then became the Assistant State Conservationist in Athens, GA in November 1975, where he worked until he retired on November 30, 1990. He was a member of Tuckston United Methodist Church and was active in the Gideon Ministry. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 6-8P.M. at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, East. A memorial service will be held Monday April 11, 2016 at Tuckston United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Benevolence Fund at Tuckston UMC or the Alzheimer's Association.
