Annie Ruth Logan

May 16, 1933 — February 4, 2013

Annie Ruth Hill Logan, age 79, of Athens, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a four year struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Anne's mission was to live a life that would glorify God. She loved Jesus, her family and her church family. She was born May 16, 1933, to the late Esco and Emma Hill. After graduating from Athens High School, she began working at the Southern Bell Telephone Company. She married her first sweetheart, William Herbert Logan, in 1954, and they celebrated their 58th year together on April 16, 2012. Her children and her grandchildren are the people who were most influenced by her Godly example. Any with a need would call "Grandmother" to pray for them.
Dedicating most of her life to being a stay at home mother, she was available to help people whether it be to transport friends and family to the doctor or shopping, or to help friends with short term employment relief. She filled in temporarily at Athens Bible Book Store and in the kitchen at Athens Christian School of which she and her husband were supporters from the year it was founded. She loved working with young people and was a Christian Youth Crusade (CYC) counselor for 20 years and a Camp Maranatha counselor and supporter for as many years.
In recent years, she enjoyed the seasonal work at the University of Georgia Parking Permit Department, and Election Day duties as a Poll Worker and Manager.
Anne was a faithful member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church for 32 years where she loved her Joyful Faith Bible Study Class. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She considered participating in "The Singing Christmas Tree" a highlight of every year.
Anne loved deeply and is survived by her husband, Herbert Logan; her son, Phil Logan of Atlanta; her daughter and son-in-law, Stuart and Robin Logan Gottlieb of Macon; her grandsons and wives, Nolan and Margaret Gottlieb of Milledgeville, and Tyler and Donya Gottlieb of Greenwood, SC; her sister and brother-in-law, Larry and Martha Copeland; her sister-in-law, Irene Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Esco and Emma Hill; sisters ClaraBelle Wages and Reba Jo Hill; and brother, Clifford Hill.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 6, 2013, 1:oo p.m. at the Prince Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Nolan Gottlieb, Tyler Gottlieb, Rex Alley, Stephen Copeland, Luke Marden, and Donald Mitchell.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Odyssey Hospice.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
