Annie Lou (Memmie) Epps, 98, died peacefully surrounded by her family on September 5, 2006.
A lifelong resident of this area, she was a daughter of the late Hester Lester and Howard Wheless, and the widow of Ramey C. Epps. She retired from Chicopee Mills after fifty years. Mrs. Epps was a Christian woman and a mother to all she knew.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 8, 2006, at 1:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. Rev. David Strickland will officiate. Interment will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hawkins of Danielsville; son, Donald Epps of Comer; sister, Clyde Parham of Jackson County; eight grandchildren, Terry Weatherbee, Keith Epps, Kevin Epps, Elissa Mize, Tammy Owens, Tiffany Dixon, Charlotte Lynn Evans and Rhonda Evans; eleven grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
