Annie Ophelia (McCanon) Compton

Ophelia McCannon Compton, 86, wife of the late Jim Compton, died Friday, December 23, 2016. Born in Crawford, GA, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Lillian Gunter McCannon. She retired from Jefferson Mills and was a member of New Life Apostolic Church, Watkinsville, GA. Survivors include her four children: Barbara Ann Fields, Jackie Coile, Linda May and Jimmy Compton; sister: Ann Carr; sixteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 1PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Pastor Tim Hammond and Bishop Douglas Hammond officiating. Interment will follow at Collier Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday, December 26, 2016 at the funeral home.
